Will AI Replace EFL/ESL Teachers?

The rise of artificial intelligence (AI) and advanced language models has sparked debates across various industries, including education. In the realm of English as a Foreign Language (EFL) and English as a Second Language (ESL) teaching, the question arises: can AI replace human teachers?

While AI holds immense potential, it is crucial to examine its capabilities and limitations objectively.

What we are witnessing currently is that AI-powered robots lack the innate capabilities that we humans are born with – ‘The Five Senses.’ Therefore, empathy, feelings, and emotions are not part of AI’s present capabilities.

Only time will tell. However, my philosophy is that AI is currently my co-pilot, and I welcome it to the real world. Or am I just being old-school?
